Carry Out Your Waste

Bring a reusable water bottle and water purification tablets or a filter to avoid buying single-use plastic bottles — a major source of pollution on popular trekking routes. Pack out all your rubbish, including tissues and cigarette butts. Never burn rubbish at altitude.

Support Local Economy

Choose locally-owned teahouses over chain lodges. Buy local handicrafts directly from artisans. Hire licensed Nepali guides and porters — not only does this support local families, but a good guide enhances your experience immensely and keeps you safe.

Respect Porter Rights

Ensure your porter is properly clothed, equipped, and not carrying more than 25kg. At Paradise Adventure Trek Nepal, our porters receive fair wages, proper equipment, insurance, and regular breaks. We refuse to compromise on porter welfare.

Cultural Sensitivity

Always ask permission before photographing people. Dress modestly when entering monasteries (shoulders and knees covered). Remove shoes at monastery entrances. Walk clockwise around chortens and mani walls. Learn a few Nepali words — locals deeply appreciate the effort.

Protect the Forest

Never cut live wood for fires. In most areas above treeline, cooking is done on kerosene or gas stoves. Hot showers at teahouses are often solar-powered — choose these over heated showers when available.
