A Nepali-Owned Trekking Company, Nine Years on the Trail
Locally owned in Thamel, Kathmandu — guiding Himalayan treks since 2017
About Paradise Adventure Trek Nepal
Paradise Adventure Trek Nepal was founded in 2017 in Thamel, Kathmandu, by a small group of guides who had already spent years working the Everest and Annapurna trails for other companies. We started the business for one reason: we believed treks could be run more safely, more honestly, and more fairly to the Nepali staff who make them possible.
Nine years later, that is still the whole idea. We are fully licensed with the Nepal Ministry of Tourism, registered with the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), and we operate every trek in-house — we do not sell your booking on to a third-party operator and disappear.
TAAN Registered · Nepal Tourism Board Licensed · NMA Affiliated
What Nine Years Has Taught Us
Experience in this industry is not measured in decades of paperwork. It is measured in weather calls, altitude decisions and evacuation judgement. Over nine seasons our guides have turned groups around at Thorong Phedi when the pass was loaded with snow, arranged helicopter evacuation from Lobuche within the hour, and rerouted Manaslu groups when Larke La closed. Those decisions are why our trekkers get home.
How We Work
- We are guides first. Our founders still lead treks. The person answering your email in February may well be the person handing you tea at Kyanjin Gompa in April.
- We size groups small. Maximum 12 trekkers on high-altitude routes, and we run private departures for solo trekkers, couples and families at fair rates.
- We pay properly. Porters carry a maximum of 25kg, are insured for altitude rescue, receive down jackets and boots for winter routes, and are paid the full agreed wage regardless of whether you tip.
- We plan for the season you are actually travelling in. A Langtang trek in December is a different trek from Langtang in April, and we will tell you plainly if your dates are wrong for the route you have chosen.
Our Team
Licensed trekking guides · Assistant guides · Trained porters · Kathmandu office team
All field staff hold current Ministry of Tourism trekking guide licences, wilderness first aid certification, and altitude-illness training. Our guides speak English, and we can arrange French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese-speaking guides on request with advance notice.
How We Run a Trek
Licensed Nepali Guides, Not Subcontractors
Every guide on our roster is government-licensed, wilderness first-aid trained, and directly employed by us. You will know your guide's name before you fly.
Honest Acclimatisation Schedules
We build in the rest days that keep you safe at altitude. No compressed itineraries, no pressure to push through a headache at 4,500m.
Transparent Pricing, No Hidden Extras
Your quote lists exactly what is included — permits, teahouses, meals on trek, transport, insurance for staff. What is not included is stated just as clearly.
Fair Treatment for Porters
Weight limits respected, insurance provided, proper gear issued, wages paid in full. Responsible trekking starts with the people carrying the loads.
Reviews from Our Trekkers
"The fifteen-day Everest Base Camp itinerary was the reason I booked with Paradise rather than one of the twelve-day operators, and by Dingboche I understood why it matters. Two proper acclimatisation days, oxygen saturation checked morning and evening, and a guide who was completely straight with us about how we were doing. Kala Patthar at sunrise was worth every step."
"We crossed Thorong La in early November after a rest day at Manang, and the pacing was exactly right — nobody in our group of eight struggled. Our guide walked the high route via Ghyaru with us instead of taking the road, which is apparently not what every company does. The apple brandy at Marpha on the way down was a nice touch."
"We did Langtang and Gosaikunda as a couple in our late fifties. The office answered every question before we left — including the ones about whether we were fit enough, honestly rather than just to close the sale. Hearing the story of the 2015 landslide from someone who knew the families involved changed how we saw the whole valley."
"I was nervous about trekking as a solo woman, and Paradise made it straightforward — a licensed female guide, small group, and clear communication from the first email. We did Mardi Himal in December with snow above Low Camp and it was spectacular. I have already asked them to quote Gokyo for next autumn."
